United Yacht Sales, Victim of Internet Slander and Libel.

United Yacht Sales victim of Internet Slander and libel. Authorities clear United Yacht Sales of any wrong doing.

As many of you know, United Yacht Sales has been the victim of Internet defamation, libel, slander and identity theft by a person on a vendetta against a falsified wrongdoing.  The wrongdoing against our business and our brokers is so egregious that we filed suit against Robert Krutko of Columbus, Ohio for his actions.

To restate all that has transpired would take far too much of your time rehashing a story that is something like a scene from the movie Groundhog Day.  It’s the same story over and over.  And, increasingly, no one wants to hear anything that involves Robert Krutko.

Here are just the basic facts:

  • Robert Krutko owned a dive boat that was docked in the Florida Keys.
  • His inexperience as a dive boat operator lead to business failure.
  • The vessel was seized and auctioned by a marina to satisfy the thousands of dollars owed by Krutko to the marina.
  • United Yacht Sales was not connected to the seizure.
  • A United Yacht Sales broker represented the purchaser of the vessel at the auction at the request of the purchaser.
  • Subsequently, Robert Krutko has mounted a campaign of libel, slander and identity theft, against United Yacht Sales and our brokers.
  • Krutko has also targeted the marina, attorney representing the marina, and others in his Internet defamation and telephone harassment campaign.
  • United Yacht Sales has been cleared of all charges made by Krutko to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation

The Internet defamation campaign has included:

  • Lies from Krutko posted on blogs.
  • Lies from Krutko posted on numerous websites.
  • Conversations on blogs between Krutko and his many assumed aliases.
  • Postings of illegally taped conversations (obtained without permission of those being recorded and containing manipulated information).
  • Postings of photographs with derogatory comments and defaming statements.
  • Demands for money in return for his ending this madness

We have decided enough is enough.  We are now aggressively pursing all legal channels against Robert Krutko to halt his campaign of character assassination, defamation, and a long list of other offenses.

United Yacht Sales filed a suit against Krutko for defamation and libel. Krutko attempted to evade service of the lawsuit for several months. We were finally successful in serving him and rather than avoid actually going to court, as Krutko claims, we won that suit against Krutko on July 24, 2008.

We are also pursuing other legal means against Krutko to protect our reputation and that of our brokers and associates. To that end, we can only say a well-concerted effort is underway. To give additional details could serve to hamper these efforts.

Robert Krutko has and continues to post lies on the Internet relating to complaints he filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR). Links to the letter clearing United Yacht Sales of any wrongdoing follow this letter below. They are filled with facts that are undisputable truths.  Krutko also continues his sometimes obscene attacks on United Yacht Sales, regardless of the courts findings or the DPBR findings.

Finally, we are seeing a significant positive backlash from professionals within our industry and the general public against the illegal tactics being used by Krutko in his campaign to discredit and harm United Yacht Sales.

It is human nature to raise questions when someone or a business is accused of wrongdoing. However, when the truth is put before those same people with questions, a sane, logical person quickly realizes that accusations can be made for personal gain.

When those accusations are unfounded and turn into defaming attacks the attacker is seen as unsound.  When the untrue attacks are made with the intent of gaining monetarily that is, in our opinion, extortion. We will not pay for silence from an attacker who hides behind the electronic curtain that is the Internet.

United Yacht Sales is taking a firm stand on this matter and will bring justice to the forefront.  You or your business could one day be the victim of Internet Terrorist unless we act to halt the madness.

Thank you for all of your support.  We are fighting for you as we defend our integrity and business reputation.

Yacht Terminology

Yacht in modern use designates two rather different classes of watercraft, sailing and power yachts. Yachts are differentiated from working ships mainly by their leisure purpose: they are comfortable conveyances owned by the wealthy. It was not until the ascendancy of the steamboat and other types of powerboatt that sailing vessels in general came to be perceived as luxury items. However, since the level of luxury on larger yachts has seen an increasing trend, the use of the word yacht to mean any sailing vessel has been diminishing and is more and more limited to racing yachtss or cruising yachts.

Right Tips to Approaching a Boat Dealer by Peter Schmidt.

United Yacht, Marathon boats and yachts, Buy a Yacht

Looking for a new boat are you? If so, then you should know that buying a new boat is not like buying a bicycle for your son. The decision to buy a boat is a major one as it is considered as a luxury purchase. It’s not a matter of finding the one that looks good, whip out your cash and then off you go boating. It’s a matter of finding everything you can about the type of boat that you have in mind before approaching a boat dealer.

Though there are many honest boat dealers out there, you should be aware that there are boat dealers who are purely business men and out to make money off of you. These kinds of boat dealers are everywhere, though not commonly found in developed countries. If you live near the water, chances are there are dozens of them to choose from. So, how do you find the right boat dealer for you and forget about the rest of the bunch.

Before you go searching for a boat dealer, you should do research of your own. The Internet is one of the best places for that. Another one is boating magazines. You might also want to study brochures and sales materials carefully. If you’re using the Internet, you’d want to find a forum that discusses boats. In here, you’ll find boat owners who are willing to share with you their experiences of owning boats of their own. Who knows, you might get a few tips from them either about boating in general or about what it is like to deal with a particular boat dealer.
